At this point I'm planning on breast feeding but supplementing with a bottle once a day (not exactly sure when I'm starting that but guessing around a month). My mom picked up two Medela bottles at a store closing sale and via some hand me downs from one of her coworkers, I ended up with 4 nuk bottles (I think they are 6 ounce). My plan is to get new nipples for the nuk bottles but I'm assuming that once I clean and sterilize them they should be good to go. Now to the questions:
1) We have a dishwasher with a sterilization option. Should we just go with that for the bottles or have a microwave sterilizer? Since we have different brands of bottles do you recommend a specific sterilizer that works with more bottles than not?
2) At the moment I'm registered for a starter pack of advent bottles (because I wasn't expecting the hand me down bottles). Should I keep them on the registry or should I take them off? I know that little ones can be pretty picky on bottles which is why I wanted to have two brands on hand but having three almost seems silly.
Any thoughts are appreciated. TIA!
Re: bottle sterilizer question
I do not use a bottle sterilizer either...just wash them by hand with warm water...As far as bottles...I have avent and G loved them up until a week ago so I am now starting Blayne's collection of bottles lol....
I would hold off on more bottles, like Blayne said you have 2 other nipple choices....and remember most nipples do fit on any bottle, it is not the bottle they will have a problem with if any....it would be the nipple.
And Blayne- just so you are not alone my friend's son has about 50 different bottles lol until he finally took one......crazy these kids are
