Induction second time around...

I was thinking this moring because I was induced with my dd due to high bp will I most probably be induced the second time around?  I was just thinking that I will be like a first timer again wondering if that was my water breaking what is this is it a contraction?  I didn't feel one single contraction until the pit started flowing.  I still had a super fast labor from the time my water was broken until I had her in my arms was only 6 hours and I only pushed for less than 10 minutes.  So I had a great induction so I wouldn't be worried about it the next time.  I just wanted to know if your chance for an induction is higher once you had one.  Does anyone know? TIA

  • My OB told me that if you needed to be induced the first time.....you will most likely need inducing again.

  • I was induced at 38 weeks the first time for high BP.  It was a long process for me (27 hours ugh!) but a smooth one.. no concerns or c-section talk.  The second time around I had no BP issues at all.  I dilated pretty early on the second time, 2cm at 34 weeks, 3 at 36 weeks. I felt like a first timer just waiting for my water to break or a mucus plug to fall out. My OB said I was a good candidate for an scheduled induction (Good Bishops score and a previous successful induction) if I wanted one at 39 weeks.  I took her up on the offer because it was easier to schedule child care for ds#1 and for DH to get the time off from work.  I had a an appt two days before the scheduled induction and the OB said my water was leaking and I was 4 cm.  She sent me right over to the hospital started me on pit and ds#2 was born 5 hours later.  They called it an "augmentation" and not an induction because I went in at 4cm.
