Recommend your sling....?

This one gets great reviews. Looks like it can grow with the baby. I never used a sling with Sophie but I figure I will have the need this time around with two little ones.

I think this completes the tiny registry I created for my work shower. There are like 5 items on it. LOL. Its pitiful. But I think I have everything else I need. Can you guys think of anything that is a must have that was not around 3 years ago? Or that may come in handy for a mom of 2 vs 1?

I don't have any recs for a sling because I didn't use one with Quinn, but am definitely considering it this time around.

I am getting that, too, Allison! I have heard RAVES about it and I like the idea that its taller than a normal bouncer which seems safer with Sophie around. I am making my sister add it to her registry and my mom wants one for her house.

I have four (maybe five?) different kinds of carriers/slings, and the only one I can vouch for is the good old Baby Bjorn. It's the only one that Emma liked and I loved that it was just so easy to snap on. The other slings were good in theory, and maybe if she had taken to them, I would have liked them more than the Bjorn, but it wasn't worth the trouble because within a few minutes she wanted to get out. The Bjorn has been a godsend. And it's just as comfortable now as it was when she was a newborn.

I loved the Baby K'tan for Graciela.  I used it all the time from the first week at home until she was probably around 10 months old.  I liked the versatility of it and the fact that it was easier on the shoulders and back b/c of the two "straps."  I used the Baby Bjorn for Cedric (didn't have the K'tan then), and I loved that for him, but she just didn't like it as much and she preferred the Ktan.  I also have two wring slings that were less useful b/c they were not as secure and only one-sided.  I couldn't bend down at all with those, although I did use them around the house.  I also have a meitai type wrap that I used for Graciela when she was around 8 mos to a year old, when she outgrew wanting to use the wraps/slings.

I also used a bassinet for Graciela that had a detachable basket.  For the first couple of weeks, I had her in the basket on the floor in the living room during the days we were home, to protect her from Cedric walking around.  After that, though, I just put her on the floor in the activity gym (gymini type thing), and he was used to her being there and it was fine.  She used the bouncer occasionally, but not often. 

That high bouncer makes me a bit nervous, although I admit I never used it.  I imagine my then-two-year-old trying his darndest to tip it over.

I have never heard of that sling, I loved my MOBY and definately believe that the sling is one thing you will definately need with 2 kids.

Register for diaper rash cream, shampoos, lotions, maybe new brushes, bibs, infant tylenol and motrin.

I got these AWESOME very breathable, light weight blankets made by Aden and Anais. They are awesome to cover baby lightly, cover the stroller so no one touches the baby, swaddle, etc... they are huge!

I think that's all I put on my registry.

I have the Maya Wrap and Ergo Carrier.  I used them both a lot.  Ring slings like the Maya are nice for breastfeeding.  I still continue to use the Ergo often.  I like that you can use it in the hip carry and back carry for older kids.

If we have another baby, I'm getting a Mei Tie or K'tan.

i love the moby!!  and Sarah is incredibly secure in it, so I feel ok running after Abby while I'm wearing her.

I do the same thing Tania did... I just put S down on the gym mat and let abby play around her.  Abby's really used to S now, though I don't trust her 100%, I know she doesn't hit or try to stepn Sarah anymore!

as for that fisher price rocker thing... oh man, i WISH they had that for Abby!!  The severe reflux she had, that would've saved our lives.  It would've beat having her sleep in a car seat for 3 months, too!
