Hi all
I had a question that I was hoping you ladies would be able to help me with ![]()
DD will soon be 1...(having hard time with that one lol) so she will be transitioning from formula to milk. How do you do this?!?
I will obviously talk to her pedi at her next appt but have been thinking so much about it I thought I'd ask...do you give her milk in a bottle? or only in a sippy cup?
Do you stop formula cold turkey or do some milk some formula? do you increase the amount of solids you give them at this point?
Ok so I guess I had a lot of questions ![]()
TIA~!
Re: Q from 9-12mths - formula transition
Our pedi says it depends on your LO.
You can replace one bottle a day with milk, you can mix formula and milk, or you can just give milk.
We mixed at first and then just gave milk bottles. He gets bottles in the morning and at night. He gets sippys during the day. We also give 3 meals plus snacks.
Really, it's what works for you and your LO.
It does really depend on how she likes milk.
With my first son, he loved it so we just dropped formula and bottles and he gulped milk in his sippy cups without any problem. No issue at all.
My second son isn't such a fan, so we had to gradually add milk into his bottles. Every week we added a little more milk and less formula to each bottle so he just eventually got used to the taste. Once he was down to all milk we just dropped the bottles completely and used only sippies.
I would try to avoid milk in bottles and get rid of bottles as soon as you can.
