need middle name suggestions for Alexa

My husband and I love the name Alexa but we're having serious trouble figuring out a workable middle name. 

- DH likes Alexa Rae, but I hate it. 

- I want to use my grandmother's name, which would make it Alexa Katharina, but i'm thinking it would sound too complicated. 

- DH likes Alexa Marie, which I don't hate, but I don't love it either.

Suggestions welcome!

What about if you pick a name similar in meaning to Katharina which I think means "pure" or sounds similar like Katherine.

How about Alexa Kate?

 

I think Alexa Katharina is way too much name. But like pp said....Katharina means pure, and so does Kate, nice way to honor Grandma, but also still have a name that flows and is her own.

Abandoning your grandmother's name, I once met a little girl named Alexa Rhianne, which I thought was really pretty.

I do like the one syllable middle name paired with Alexa. I really like Alexa Grace, Alexa Faith, Alexa Kay, Alexa Kate or Alexa Joy.

Alexa Katherina is a mouthful... doesn't flow well. I like the idea of a one syllable middle name like Rae, but I'm lovin' Rae either. I liked others' suggestions or Kate and Grace.

I agree you could shorten Katharina.But if you want to use it, ppl don't use their mns much unless its for legal/official stuff.  I have a cousin named Alexandra Isabel. Also Alexa Claire... or other short names would work. GL.

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies. I do like the one syllable middle names for Alexa (Alexa Rose?).  I'm not a huge fan of Kate - since I can't really use my grandma's name with Alexa, I'll go in another direction.  

I'm not sure what we'll do, but we've got a while to figure it out

Alexa Rae is Billy Joel's daughter's name.

I really liked Mae and Rose as middle names for a girl (both are family names) and Alexa was one of my top picks if we were having a girl... so i vote for Alexa Mae or Alexa Rose
