If you stopped swaddling...

When you stopped swaddling your LO, did he/she have any problems sleeping?  How was the transition?

Re: If you stopped swaddling...

  • I don't remember exactly when...maybe around 4 months?  It was when we noticed she was trying to suck her thumb.  At first we started just swaddling w/o her arms, but that never stayed on very well.  But, we also used a positioner for a little while after we stopped swaddling.

  • I'm still swaddling my 5 month old because when I try to put her to sleep without it, she wakes up every 15 minutes. So yeah, she has problems sleeping when I try to stop the swaddle.

  • we stopped around 3 months after finding her every morning fora week with an amr/leg free. we went cold turkey (on a friday night just in case). it's been smooth sailing, fortunately, since.

  • We stopped around 4 months when DD started rolling from back to front at night.  I'll be honest, it wasn't fun getting her to apparently re-learn how to go to sleep, a long week or two.  But as soon as she started sleeping on her belly, she also was sleeping 8 PM to 7:30 AM!!
