"Gerber" onesies? Run small?

I am sorting through the goods that I got this weekend from family and friends. These gerber onesies are TEENY.

Anyone else find this? Any 2nd time moms want to comment? I am not sure if I should sort them with the smaller sizes or what!

  • Yes they run VERY small.  I hate them.

  • Gerber clothes run SUPER small. Of course, those little newborns are really tiny as well. You may use them, you may not.

Yep - they run very small.

My plan is to only have one set of newborn and one set of 0-3 as I think she will grow out of them way too soon.

If she is tiny, we can always pick up more after she is born.

  • Yes! 0-3 are more like NB size... 3-6 are more like 0-3 and so on...

  • Yes, they do.  BUT I still love them and they were a staple of DD's wardrobe, as long as I could keep the sizes straight.
  • Yes they are very small. I had some when DD was born. She weighed 8 lbs 11 oz and they barely fit her!

  • They do run small. They worked great for us when DD was a newborn because she was too tiny for most NB sized onesies.

  • gerber runs RIDICULOUSLY small.

  • Yes, definately run small, DS was 9 lbs 6 oz 22" with a long torso at birth and was wearing the 6-9 month ones off the bat it seemed.  I prefer Carter's onesies.

Yep - ridiculously small. I'm not a fan of Gerber clothing. They didn't hold up well in the wash either (IMO).

  • Yes, they run small but I still used all the sizes with my DD, they just didn't match up to the sizes she was wearing in everything else. They really are a great staple that first year!
  • Yes they do run small.  I also don't find they to be that great of quality.  I stuck with Carter's onesies
  • Yes they do run small.  I always used them when DS was transitioning sizes.  To move up a size in some of the other brands was too big so I would move him up in the gerber ones first.

  • Yes! The Gerber onesies definately run small! And, since they're 100% cotton, they shrink a little, too. After my baby shower for DS, I sorted clothes by size and placed them all in separate storage containers. When DS got to the 3-6 month clothing sizes, all the onesies in 3-6 were too small! He could wear the 6-9 just fine at that point. I would suggest sorting with the smaller sizes. I wish I had because he got very little wear out of a lot of the onesies. I hope this info. helps some!

  • in general gerber items suck.  the clothing runs really small and is not soft at all.  their breast pads are super small and thin too.  might as well not wear anything.
  • Yes,they run small and get all out of shape very quickly.  I used them, but definitely prefer Carters onsies over the Gerber.
  • They do run small which is good if you have a smaller baby. I prefer Carters as well.
  • yes they run small.. dont bother getting any newborn size.. I did with ds ( he was 8 ls 1 oz) and he fit in them for a week! I am a huge fan or carters brand( you can get them at babies r us).. much better quality.. hth
