TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

CD13 Update

I'm still very new at this, so this is from my understanding, I hope I'm not saying it wrong.  I have a mature follie, 18mm, and I am waiting for the RE to call me, the nurse said he would probably tell me to trigger tonight.  The nurse did say that my lining was thin from the Clomid, the number she gave was 6.5.  She doesn't know if he'll give me anything to help with that.  I'm about to read the PEAS again to see if there's anything I can do at this point in the game.

Then the nurse proceeded to explain how to do the trigger shot.  This particular nurse isn't good with words, so she confused me so much!  I THINK I understand, but I'm a little nervous, so I might have my mom come over and set it up for me, she's a nurse and can help understand the written instructions.  I wouldn't want to mess anything up.

That's all I wanted to say.  I just maybe want reassurance that everything is normal at this point?  Any ideas about the lining?  Thanks for listening!

ETA:  This might be a noob question.  I had several follies, but that one was by far the biggest and the one I took note of.  That's the one I'll ovulate from, right?  It will become my "corpus luteum."

Re: CD13 Update

  • Check out the Freedom pharmacy website - look up your drug and you can find videos of how to do them.  If your mom is a nurse it should be a breeze for you.  I do mine about an inch below and to the right or left of my belly button.

The only thing I know for the lining is pom juice or pom pills.  Typically that would be before O, but I think if you started some now it might still help since implantation still wouldn't start for a few days or so.

    Good luck tonight!

  • good luck! my trigger comes pre-mixed and set up so I have no advice - but yes, watch online videos - makes it easier.

POM juice or POM pills. when my lining has been low during med cycles my RE has prescribed estradiol for me.

    good luck!

  • Wishing you the best of luck. I don't have any experience with Clomid regarding the lining.  I would jump on the pom band wagon, it still may help.  My dr. office administers my trigger shot, thank goodness!

    Keep us updated!

  • If you do the trigger shot, it should release all mature follies.  I think follies above 14 can have eggs in them to release.  So if you have a few in that range then they will probably release and all have the potential to fertilize.

Thanks!  I know the biggest one was 18 and I'm not sure past that what it was.  Maybe I'll ask again when they call.  Should I be discouraged that there's only 1?  (Sorry for all the questions!)

  • 18mm is a good size!  The trigger shot is seriously no big deal.  You should have gotten instructions with it, they explain it very well.  Most drs like to see a lining of at least 7, but your dr might be ok with yours at 6.5.  Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything you can take this late in your cycle that will help with your lining.

  • Do you ovulate on your own without the clomid?  I think I got 2 each time I did Clomid, but I O'd on my own.  The clomid made it a few days earlier though.  I don't think I would worry about having one - you don't want too many because of the risk of multiples anyway.

I don't think clomid is known to produce more than one or two follies.  So, one is fine.

Thanks!  I was thinking it was too late for POM, so I'm going to go back and read the PEAS.  And if one is good, I'm happy with it!

Seriously, I am so thankful for yall!

I do ovulate on my own, but usually not until around CD26 or so.  They are hoping the Clomid will help me to produce a more quality embryo.  If one is good, I'm good with it!  I know I've said thank you already, but I feel like I can't say it enough, so: thank you, thank you, thank you, for listening and for the advice!
