Puppy pads

DS has been leaking out of his diaper every night. We have moved up sizes, changed the brand, etc...

Can I use a puppy pad under his crib sheet to protect the matress pad? It's just annoying to have to take off both of them and wash both and we only have one mattress pad.

I assume there are chemicals in the puppy pad since dogs are attracted to them, but are they harmful? I cannot find ANYTHING on the internet! Are the pads they use at the hospital puppy pads or another type for humans?

No flames please! I just want to make my life a little easier, but I WILL NOT use them if they are bad for baby! Let me know what you think.

Re: Puppy pads

  • I have kinda wondered the same thing since I have an open pack of puppy pads since my dog didnt really need them. Luckily DS doesn't leak very often, but I thought they may come in handy in a few years during potty training...

    I found this site https://www.simplesolution.com/

and in their FAQs is this...

Q: What are the ingredients for the attractant? Is it safe around children?
A: The attractant is a non-toxic biodegradable scent, which indicates to the puppies where to go. It is safe around children.

  • We use lappads.
  • Thank you both so much! I felt so stupid asking, but I figured they had to be safe to have on the floor at home. Big Smile

You should try using a cloth diaper cover over your sposies it will help contain the mess.  Also they make sheet savers and lap pads that are WASHABLE instead of disposable for this purpose.
