Advice for planned c-section mamas

I never really thought too much about what I would be wearing home from the hospital and brought some yoga pants and a t-shirt, but the pants really hurt sitting on my incision so soon after surgery. Just a reminder to bring something like a dress to go home in so you don't have any pressure on your tender incision site.

Re: Advice for planned c-section mamas

  • Good advice ;) I have some comfy yoga pants that I'll wear riding higher, like maternity pants. Worked well the last time!

  • I had no problem wearing yoga pants home from the hospital after my c-section.  I just put a pad horizontally over my incision site inside my underwear (soft side towards the incision, obviously) and wore whatever I wanted (which was always pants cause I hate dresses and only wear them to church).
  • I actually didn't have any problems wearing pants home after my c-section.  I wore my yoga maternity pants from Old Navy and kind of folded them over so they weren't sitting right at my incision.  I do agree with being careful about what to wear afterward though - particularly panties, mine were all cut a little low.  Perfect time for granny panties that will go above your incision!
  • i was just thinking about this today. thanks for the tip!
