Cleaning Humidifiers

How often do you clean the humidifier?  And what do you use?  I was thinking vinegar/water combo.  TIA!

We only use ours during the winter but I take it apart every week and rinse it out well. ?1x per month I take it apart and wash with water & vinegar. ?

I use vinegar every other week to clean it, ours is filter less so I just rinse it with hot water real good every time I fill it in between washes.
