Sorry you consider me bitchy because I don't agree with you. All I said was I thought it was crazy to call bikinis trashy & I joked around about people being jealous. I don't see how any of that is bitchy. Get a grip. I'm not the one calling toddlers trashy.
I think there are tasteful bikinis for toddlers and adults. I don't think all bikinis are sexy and I have never considered a bikini a sexual object. I guess were all raised different.
Speaking of backpedaling...
Oh and sidenote, you might want to work on your reading comprehension: "Heck yeah a 2 yo can LOOK trashy (I'm not saying the kid IS trashy, at that age, it's not their fault how they're dressed)."
Aaaand, was this not my entire point above?? "I think there are tasteful bikinis for toddlers and adults."
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here.
You really are special, aren't you. I'm not backpedaling at all. The first paragraph was directed at you and the second was for the op because she was saying bikinis were sexualized in adults and children.
zachwife~ I'm not sure why you are singling me out. I never called anyone a name on here and none of my original posts were even directed towards you. What don't you understand??
If you want to go with you think my dds swimsuits are trashy but they aren't...go ahead. Either way, you're the one being a b!tch.
Hey, moron...I was talking to YOU! Quit trying to say there is something sexual about babies...there just isn't. Unless you are freaking dirty minded.
i never said there was something sexual about babies. i said there was something sexual about bikinis. that is the whole problem.
i also love that you just called me a moron. very nice. i thought this was a healthy debate and we were entitled to our opinions without name calling.
lol. awww...did I just hurt your efeelings? I call em like I see em, and you my dear, are a moron. You just don't get it. And I don't have the time or the patience to explain it to you. The fact that you don't see it makes you a moron. And there is nothing healthy about your side of this debate.

Calling a toddler trashy because she is in a
pink ruffled swimsuit/bikini is crazy, just like a lot of people in this
thread.
My mistake. I actually thought this was directed to me since I posted the pink ruffled bikini and called it trashy. And then I thought you were insinuating that I was crazy. And then, I thought you called me a b!tch.
Here is what I don't get about them on a baby or toddler. The purpose of a bikini top is to hide developed breasts. When you put one on a baby or toddler it just looks ridiculous, because there are no breasts there to hide. Just looks silly to me. Why not just let the baby go without a top??
exactly this! if diaper changes are the issue (which i completely get), why not just put a bottom on them?
To me it's a modesty issue. I think more people at the pool and beach would give me the side eye if DD was wearing only the bottom half.
you're worried about your not even 2 year old's modesty, but have her in a bkini? this makes no sense to me. she's a baby, she doesn't have breasts. at this point there's not no distinction between her and a little boy except genitals. this is bizarre and further proof society has fvcked up a lot of our sensibilities.
In public, around strangers, Yes, I worry about my 2 year old's modesty. I won't let her run around naked in public at this age but that's my choice as a parent. The backyard is a different thing. The bikini covers up everything that it should. And the pic was taken in our backyard and I LOOOOOVE it. If we go to public pools or somewhere with a lot of sun she will probably wear a suit with more coverage, but only for sun protection, not b/c i'm worried people will 'sexualize' her.
I can dress her however I want for whatever reasons I want. And I think she is utterly adorable
Re: ick - toddler bikinis
This isn't a fair fight. You just don't get it.
ironic, isn't it?
it's my whole point.
they are babies. there is no reason to sexualize them by putting sexualized clothing on them.
i never said there was something sexual about babies. i said there was something sexual about bikinis. that is the whole problem.

It's like she's trying to speak to me!!!!!
good thread. good thread. jessmill wuz here!!!
I was just going to ask the same question! Very cute...even though DD really does NOT need another bathing suit!

Oh wait, you did.
