meds question

I am seeing a counselor right now, he said I could see a psychiatrist also if I wanted to try any meds. I can't get in until the 17th of June. I know my regular doc could get me in sooner should I just wait or talk to my regular doc about it?

You could try your regular doctor. My OB told me he would only get me started on the meds but would need a psychiatrist to manage my medicine if the prescription he gave me worked...However, Zoloft didn't work for me so he was able to call in a referral and speed up the psychiatrist appointment to within a week.
