Provera + 12 days later = nothing!

Thanks to PCOS and my lack of ovulation this cycle is up to day 94 with no end in sight.

I know that I should contact my doctor if I don't start after 14 days but what will they do? More blood test? I've heard that this can be due to low estrogen and mine has been tested and it's fine....

Anybody have any other ideas or been in this situation?

Mine never shows until day 12-14 unfortunately.  I am not sure but I am guessing they will probably give you a higher dose of provera but I could be wrong because I have never had this happen before. FWIW I am also annovulatory & have PCOS.

Oh & one other thing it's 14 days after you take your last pill. I am not sure if they told you that or not so I just wanted to double check

Twice I got my period 2 days after taking the last pill, and then it took 2 weeks.  I was worried and went in for an u/s and bloodwork at day 12....and ended up starting that night!  Give it a few more days and then call your doc.  Good luck!

I am right there with you. I am now 6 days after my last pill of prometrium and only once have I had to wait 12 days, so I am trying to be patient.

Your doc can draw blood and/or do an u/s to see if your lining is thin and your numbers are down to indicate that your body is ready to start a new cycle.

They'll probably draw more blood and do an u/s as the pp to check your lining. It is possible it was so thin that you don't have enough to 'shed'. Have you had any spotting at all?  I had one really light period once that was barely more than 2-3 days of spotting.

I've been on Provera twice and it did not work for me either time. I had a thyroid issue, though so they think that's why it didn't work. You may want to have your thyroid checked if it hasn't been already. It's amazing how many bodily functions are controlled by that little gland.

I have PCOS and unovulatray also. I was on provera and started on day 8 of my pills with AF, normally she won't show intil 12-14 days after the last pill.

provera didn't work for me after my AF didn't return for 86 days after my 2nd m/c --- the only thing that did was a short round (2 weeks) of birth control.
