meetup.com for mom groups?

Has anyone had success finding a mom's group this way?

Worked for me. Found a fun group of moms in my quasi-rural area. I liked the fact the group leader called to screen me before giving me info to group information.

Yes. I joined and sent my $5 in, but most activities in my particular group are geared more towards toddlers.

I found a group, but our first meet up isn't until May 12th.  I'm super excited!!!

I found a group! I acctually found out about it through a woman I met at Little Gym, but the group organizes through Meetup.  It's def. worth a shot.  I met with another group through meetup and didn't click with them as well.

Yes, I met a dear friend this way.  She recently moved away but I'm hoping to meet some other moms this way by attending more functions.  I found that the other moms are friendly and there for the same reasons.

That is how I found my group, and I love it.  We have stuff planned a couple times a week at least, so I can usually make at least one of them:)  Good luck.

my local nest board started a meetup group for local NJ nest moms - it's been great.
