Anyone have a rec for a good lactation consultant who makes house calls? My best friend is having problems bfing her 5 day old baby and needs some help. Thanks!
I don't have a rec myself but her best bet (without a personal referral) would be The Motherhood Center. The price there is a little more of a premium, but faster response. Her second option would be a referral thru LLL.
What part of HOuston is she in? I can post to my moms' group.

Ooh, I forgot about The Motherhood Center. I'll pass that along. She's in Pearland.
When we left the hospital we had a packet that had all sorts of information including a list of LC's in our area. You might ask her if she received something like that from the hospital and could find an LC from that list.
Ditto this rec for Connie. She helped me through some latch issues I was having in the beginning. She also sells supplements (in addition to pumps, bras, etc) that I used to help with my milk supply.
We are in PL, too. We used Mindy at Add A Little Love. We also bought our pump from her. She was rec'ed by our pedi. She was really nice - we had a good experience.
The lady I called is in Cypress, but she was helpful over the phone. I also went to the support group at Women's and it was very helpful. It's a chore getting out and getting over there, but so worth it. I was able to talk to LCs and other moms. I felt like my problems were NOTHING compared to some of them.
Thank you. I passed all these recs along to her. I had no problems in the beginning bfing either child so I'm kind of at a loss as to how to support her.

I'm in Tomball, so my list wouldn't help.
My doula is NBCLC and does house calls....https://www.babiesareblessings.com/index.html
