I told my mom the day I got my positive test. She's been really supportive through everything and I wanted her to know as soon as I did. She told me dad later that night.
I want to tell my family. I was thinking of telling our families this weekend as we are visiting DH's family on Saturday and then having my family over on Sunday night. It's getting tough to hide from people when I keep having to cancel because I don't feel well. I had to cancel lunch with a friend today because I'm not feeling so hot!
My mom called me and asked me if I was pregnant. She told my dad. Then we told MIL. We have a group of 10 people that know because they are the ones that knew about our m/c. We have no intention of telling anyone else until I get to 2nd tri. I actually will be 13 weeks on Father's day and we plan to spill the beans to the rest of our world at that point.
Told our parents when we found out at 4 weeks that day, sent a text of the 3 postive tests & my husband wrote, to his family, think I got Hayley pregnant. Then my mom knew that we had a light positive & sent her the official text. My husbands mom & dad & sis called right away...one of his sisters never wrote anything back to us & didn't talk to us for 2 weeks, she said her phone was acting up even though she received the text & saw both my husband & i on facebook after? I don't get along with her & she had the first grandchild in her family so guess she was jealous.. I called my dad & step mom since they pay for their texts.

We plan on telling our entire family in June. Both sides will be getting together for our daughters baptism... so we'll take a group photo, and one of our friends will be running the camera saying "Say Cheese... say Baptism... Say Jane's Pregnant!" Should be fun to capture their reactions!
I made a t-shirt for my dog (who is like my first baby) that said "I'm going to be a big sister" I then sent her running into my parents house. My mother's reaction was priceless.
We're waiting until after my first appointment. Then we'll call my parents on Skype (after we tell DD I'm pregnant) and tell them DD wants to read them a story. She'll be wearing a "big sister" shirt and the book will be, "I'm going to be a big sister!" that we bought her.
We'll do something similar with DH's family (Skype, the Big Sister shirt...) but not the reading a book, as they don't speak English.
As for other family/friends... we're moving this weekend. In a few weeks I'll create a slideshow of our new place. One of the kitchen pictures will have the oven door open and a bun inside, with the caption, "We have a bun in the oven!" and then in case they don't get it, the last photo will be a picture of the 3rd bedroom door with caution tape all over it and a sign that says, "This room is being reserved for Baby B, due 12/2/10."
Mom to J (10), L (4), and baby #3 arriving in July of 2015
I took a picture of my P/S and sent it to my mom and on facebook I posted "First comes love then comes marriage NOW a Baby in MY Tummy Being Carried" We just got married last Aug and I thought that was cute. I love the picture of the little girl hold the sign saying she is going to be a big sister very cute I will have to use that on my 2nd child when the day come

We told my parents the day we got our BFP - after we had calmed down, ourselves of course. They are the only people who know (I'm only 5.5 weeks). The main reason was that my DH travels a lot, and when he's OOT, I see them all the time. So we invited them over for a BBQ. Perfect example of why we told them - they walked in with two bottles of wine and a bottle of tequila Plus my Mom really is my best friend and support system outside of DH and I want her to be there through everything.
Funny story of how - literally the day before I got my BFP, I was shopping with my Mom. She found some golf balls that said, "Dad" on them . My mother had no idea we had even TTC, but she said, "You should buy these to give your DH when you get pregnant!" So I did, with her having no idea I'd be giving them to him the next day. So my parents come over, and DH says, "Sara gave me a pretty cool gift today..." and handed my Dad the golf balls. My Dad got it right away and gave me a hug, but my Mom said, "Noo you are supposed to wait until you are pregnant! Wait. What?! OHMYGOSH!"
We are telling our parents on Mother's day as well. I went to Hallmark and purchased a "Great Moms Get Promoted to Grandmother" frame. I wrote a little poem and put it in the frame. Can't wait to see their reaction. I haven't gone to the doctor yet but I am ready to tell my family.
I feel like mothers day is too soon (well my mom knows but my in laws don't). Also, my parents are divorced & my dad won't be there.
I would like to hear/see the heartbeat. we're thinking of having a bbq here with both of our families...just trying to think of a creative way to tell them while we're all together! any ideas??
I really like the idea that someone wrote "say Kelly's pregnant" haha

We told our families right away. With my parents, we weren't sure what the reaction would be since our wedding was in 3 weeks at the time but they took it well. We swap Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner cooking every year with DH's sister and so when we were over at her house we asked if they didn't mind doing Thanksgiving this year even though it was our turn because I would be a little preoccupied with a baby to do the cooking... It took his sister a minute to figure it out but the BIL started hooting and hollering right away... It was funny!
We told our parents the week we got the BFP. DH's mom lives out of state and since she isn't going to be able to be involved like DH's dad and my parents we wanted to make sure we told her first. For her we just called her the morning we got our 3rd BFP (we don't keep secrets very well...).
My mom's birthday was that Saturday (we got our BFP on a Monday and had it confirmed throughout that week) so we decided we would wait to tell her then. We got her a Grandma Birthday card and just put Love, Your Grandbaby and Can't wait to Meet you in November! It was awesome because at first she thought it was a joke that we were calling our dogs her grandbabies and then it hit her that it was for real!
For DH's Dad and Step-mom we got a Grandparents picture frame and put a picture of the positive pregnancy test in it.
We told our close family right after we found out. We're really close with them and figured it would be good to have a few extra people praying for us too!
We had my Dad and siblings over for dinner and gave my dad a baby onesie I found at Meijer that said "I Grandpa." He just smiled and said "I didn't think you guys would wait long" lol
We did the same thing for MIL, went out to dinner and gave her "I Grandma" onesie. She couldn't believe it at first and thought we were joking with her. She was really excited and cannot wait to be a grandma!
So far we've only told our parents, siblings, grandparents, and I've told a few people at work so they know whats going on when I leave early or come in late (m/s does NOT just happen in the morning ugh!). I'll be glad once we get to 12 weeks and we can tell everyone!!!
