Update on the Wonder Wash review--diapers!

I did diaper laundry this morning! It took quite a bit longer, since I did a cold wash with a little detergent, a hot wash with normal detergent (I actually put in a bit too much), a hot rinse with vinegar, and then a cold rinse because I put too much detergent in. Rolling it into the bathroom on one of the computer chairs and setting it half on the chair and half on the toilet made draining into the toilet pretty simple.

Diapers and inserts are smelling and looking clean, and are now hanging to dry. One diaper had some staining, but that's because I let them sit for WAY too long before washing (I was waiting to 1. have the money to pay for diaper laundry, 2. to get called in for babysitting duty since she lets me use her washer or 3. for the WW to come).

I rinsed out the WW when I was done just to be safe, but I don't think it really needed it.  Also of note--I, um, dropped it (oops). But it is fine.

  • That is pretty cool. Do you do the agitation or does the WW do it for you? I'm trying to gauge how much work it is to use?

  • That is cool!  How long do you think it took you total?

  • Hey ladies.

    1. The machine does the agitation (via my turning it with the handle and the pressure inside the tub)

    2. Honestly it took me about an hour today. I *think* that subsequent attempts will be a bit quicker (I was half doing the wash, half doing stuff for D lol, and the overabundance of detergent required a whole extra rinse), but with the extra attention that diapers require, I doubt I could get it down to less than 40 minutes. This is still okay by me :)

40 mins doesn't sound to bad really.  It obviously is more manual labor, but that's just as long (maybe shorter) than the time it takes in a regular washer.  Plus you get the added bonus of a workout!
