Infertility

Fellow IVFers - Tips?

Does anyone have tips or tricks for surviving the IVF process?

I started injections last Friday (Gonal F and Menopur, with Gondropin being added this week)-- The injections haven't been bad, even despite my fear of shots, but four days in I'm already weirdly exhausted by them and knowing I'm not even halfway through is disheartening.

This is obviously not how I wanted this process to go-- Didn't ever see myself three years into TTC and going the IVF route. Not even having the assurance of a positive outcome is stressful and sad. And knowing that most of my friends are quietly judging me for even thinking about having a kid isn't helpful.

What kept y'all sane? Any amazing YouTubers, rituals, or meditations that helped you?

  • I know how hard it is but it sounds like you really want a child, so it will be worth it one day. You've got this!
I found acupuncture to be oddly relaxing and helpful during this time. I also did one fun thing a week with my partner, which was great for both of us. Best wishes in your journey!

  • I completely relate. We were trying for about 3 years and I finally started ivf at 41. It was exhausting. But it worked and I would do it all over again. I am 11weeks and 6 days pregnant as of today. My advice is keep your eye on the prize. Don’t focus on the shots and the retrieval and the transfer. Focus on what it can bring you. That’s what got me through it.
