How long do you let LO nap for?

I am blessed with an excellent sleeper.  She goes to bed around 8:30ish and wakes between 8:30 and 9:30 am.  Then she goes down for a nap and sleep for 3 - 4 hours.

A 3 - 4 hour nap seems like long to me though.  Is there a certain amount of time you left LO sleep before you wake them up?

  • Wow, that is a lot of sleep!

I don't wake my DD at all.

  • My dd doesn't nap as long as yours does but I usually let her sleep as long as she wants to.  I've never woken her up, even if it's getting close to her bedtime, I figure she must need it.
  • I never wake him, unless we have a doc's appt or flight to catch.

  • I let my son sleep as long, or short, as he likes. It's not my decision, it's his.

  • ditto your kid. down at about 7pm. awake at about 8am - sometimes much later. usually has a 3hr nap. i will let her sleep about 4 hrs. it just depends on what time it is. if she's been sleeping for 3 hrs and its like 430? i'll wake her up

  • Unless we have somewhere we ABSOLUTELY MUST go I let him sleep. If they sleep that long they must need it
  • I rarely wake DS.  3 - 4 hours seems long to you, but that little growing body may need it!  When DS is awake, he is AWAKE and active.  In turn, he needs his beauty sleep!

  • unless the house is on fire, I don't wake her up.  She has occassionally slept through her bedtime and when that happens, I just feed her when she wakes up, change her and let her play for a little while and then back to bed.

  • I let him sleep unless we have to leave, or it's less than 2 hours before bedtime.

  • If she's sleeping good through the night, then I'd let her take a long nap!  Enjoy it!  Waking them up before they're ready doesn't end well.

  • Reading this makes me want to cry Sad I would give anything for my child to sleep like that. He NEVER sleeps.

  • She usually sleeps for 2.5 hours and I let her just sleep.  If I wake her it is only cause we have an appt or something that we can not be late too.
