Eating Clean Breakfast Ideas

Does anyone have a quick and easy breakfast ideas for an eating clean way of life?

I've pretty much nailed down my snacks, lunch, and dinner, but struggle with breakfast. I was never much of a breakfast eater to begin with, so it's hard for me.

I can eat the egg white omelettes/scrambled eggs on the weekends as I have the time to prepare, but during the week I'm at a loss.

I'm sick of oatmeal, never really cared for cereals (so Kashi Go Lean is out) and don't have time to cook in the morning.

So, can I prepare an egg white omelette in the evening and just re-heat when I get to work? Any other quick and easy ideas that I can incorporate into my breakfast routine? Thanks ladies!

  • i'm a fan of plain, no fat (or whatever fat content you prefer) yogurt with fresh fruit (raspberries, blueberries, banana, whatever you like) mixed in.  the yogurt brands I like best are stoneyfield farm and fage.

  • Hi there! I love clean eating, but it is hard to stay on track with that!! I love quinoa - have you tried that? You can cook enough for the week and keep it in the fridge. Find it in the rice aisle, although it's a grain (you may already know this if you are a clean eater already). I like to mix it with scrambled eggs and black beans in the morning with just a dash of hot sauce or freshly ground pepper and sea salt. It's a good protein/carb mix in the morning.

Also, try making yourself a variety fruit salad and a side of Greek yogurt with agave nectar in it and maybe some granola.

I don't know - it does seem like clean eating breakfasts are steel cut oatmeal and oranges or eggs and egg whites with whole grain bagels or English muffins. Peanut butter is also great in the morning!

    Good luck!

  • This is going to possibly sound weird/gross.  But I cook my eggs each morning in the microwave.  Fast and very easy.

Basically I scramble eggs in a ramekin (sp?).  Cook in our microwave about 50 seconds.  Rescramble.  Cook another 20-30 seconds. Then place on a whole wheat Orowheat wheat thin.  Top with salsa.  Yumm.

  • i like lite yogurt with fruit. it makes me feel "fresh!" haha. really healthy and light.
  • You could turn the yogurt and fruit ideas into smooothies.  Just add a bit of ice and fresh fruit juice.  I like to use pineapple juice.
  • Have some sort of protein: cottage cheese, plain yogurt, hard boiled eggs, low fat cheese, peanut butter, lox.  And pair it with a good carb: fruit, whole wheat english muffin/bread/wrap/waffles.  Hope that helps!
  • Thanks ladies! This helps a lot!
