No appetite on amoxicillin??

I called our pedi yesterday because, although she's had it before, this round of amox. is stealing DD's appetite. She was diagnosed with a pretty severe ear infection and fever on Saturday, and for the last 3 days has barely eaten anything. Thankfully she's still on BM but she's had like 10-12 ounces a day (was drinking 18 along with 3 very full meals) and today also had a few spoonfuls of applesauce, some banana, some yogurt and some cheddar bunny crackers. All day!  The pedi said amox. doesn't affect the appetite and it's most likely the ear infection. Well, that doesn't seem to be bothering her at all (STTN, drinking ok, etc.) so I'm confused. Anyone else had a LO react to antibs this way?

I'm also concerned because she is set for surgery for her hip dysplasia a week from Monday and she's tiny to begin with (barely 19 pounds) so I don't want her to be weak going into that!

Amoxicillin seems to be having quite the opposite effect on my boys. They are both on it (one for pneumonia and one for double ear infection), and they have been eating like crazy! I couldn't even believe how much my younger DS ate for dinner this evening. I guess they are starting to feel better.
