Wow, only 6 weeks left

Wow, I had my 28 week appt with my OB this morning, and it was a reality check.  He said that my next goal is to get me to 34 weeks and the girls will be considered full term and can usually be delivered without any issues.  That's only 6 weeks away!  I'm suddenly very nervous and excited and can't believe that I'm so close to meeting my girls.  He said that at all my future biweekly appts he's going to do a test to see if I'm leaking fluid (it's a fetal something or other test that they just swap around my cervix to see if amniotic fluid is leaking).  If it turns out that I am than he's going to pull me from work.  Why do I feel so rushed now, even though I've had the last 7 months to prepare???

I hear ya!  Its so weird!  We had our appointment yesterday (they say I'm 28 weeks today, I don't) and he said our next goal is 32 weeks and anything past that is a bonus.

The test is a fetal fibronectin test.  Its a q-tip that they stick back by your cervix and leave it there for 30-60 seconds and then send it to the lab.  Its testing for a protein that is expelled upto 2 weeks before you should have them.  Mine was negative a week ago, so they skipped the test this week and will test again next week.
