TTTC vs IF (pic in siggy)

Months and months ago, the TTTC board was pretty much empty except for random snarky posts.  Now it seems there are people posting there.

What is the difference between that board and this one?  This board is for people with diagnosed fertility issues and that one is for people who think they might be having trouble?  Is that right?  I am so confused.

I think that's the premise. There were people who had been on the board formerly known as GP who felt like they didn't belong there anymore because they didn't get pregnant in the first 1-6 months trying, but they're not like us either. So TTTC was "reborn".

I post both places, but basically there was a fairly large group of TTGPers that had been TTC for a year or more that took over the then dead 3T.  It seemed like a good option for those that weren't comfortable posting here and we could all stay as a group.  So yes, many of us are at a less advanced stage of IF.

I always forget to check that board because like you said Kim when it first started there was hardly anyone posting on it.

and I agree with MAK those girls are soooo stinking cute!  I want to pinch their cheeks!

I personally don't see any difference, the posts seem pretty similar to this board.  It seems like a wasted board that is only there to confuse people who are new.  I don't understand why we have a TTTC board and IF board but we can't have a PAIF board.

This makes sense!  It's for "advanced" TTGPers.

I was just shocked when I saw so much activity there because it was a wasteland a few months ago!

I feel like the IF board is for people who ar with a RE and are activly or in between medicated cycles. Tttc seems like they may still be at the vitamins/ natural remedies stage. Just my opinion.

because the bump thinks once you hit the 6 month TTC mark, you are having trouble.

Kinda. I post on all three boards. 

A while back a group of us on GP decided to migrate on to TTTC. We were all past the 1 year mark or slightly under a diagnosis. We wanted an "oasis" from the drive-by BFPs and "could I be pregnant" posts. Many just weren't ready to post here so it made sense to occupy a virtually empty board. 

Waaaaay back when, do you remember when a group of ladies took over the "BFP stories" board and made it the orignial TTC 6+ months? It's like that.

There is quite a few ladies going through IUIs, IVF, and even a few FETs (myself included). The Bump may say TTC 6+ on the description, but we generally nudge them over to TTGP.

It's Pregnant After Infertility.

There was a time on SAIF where many of the pregnancy questions went unanswered, so people wanted to start a PAIF board.

LOL!  It has been something of a debate on the boards for a long time about whether we need a pregnant after IF board to supplement the SAIF board which is a lot more parenting oriented now, IMHO.

Pictures don't bother me. Especially when they are from a poster like you. I've followed your story a bit and as corny and cliche as it sounds, you give me hope. I'm in a FET cycle after a c/p from IVF.

Also, my SIL name her DD Lilly and Sophie (not twins) so it's amusing to me that somebody else would happen to pick those two names.

I have lurked, and posted a couple of times over here, but I'm still doing the testing and have not been given a plan by my RE yet. We know we are dealing with MFI issues, but I am looking ok so far. Since I'm not actively going through a treatment plan right now, I don't feel 100% comfortable over here even though I've heard this board is full of wonderful ladies.

I know this question has already been answered, but I think it's really just 2 IF boards with different dynamics. And we get a lot more of the newbs who are just finding out they have IF (plus we get all the "Oh I've been trying for a month and it's just not worth it!)

So you guys should be grateful that we took over the board We catch all the dummies and point them in the right direction before they come to you.

I commend you for that. I saw at least 2 drive-bys just this week. I had mental head slaps when i saw them.

I think since these boards have been around for so long (3 years for the IF board), that you end up with different groups, those from the beginning and those in transition.
