opinions on girl names please!

Hey everyone,

I have never posted before, but have been "lurking" checking out names for awhile.  My husband and I have it narrowed down to 3 names and was hoping for your advice/opinions/or suggestions!

 Lily Kate  (I know it is popular, but I love it!)

Allie Elisabeth

 Stevie Kate

 You girls are honest and have great ideas.  So, have at it!

Lily is the best BY FAR.  I prefer Lily as a nickname to Lillian- just gives LOs more options down the road. 

Stevie is just awful.

Lily or Allie, but I much prefer the proper names Lillian and Allison for when she is not a young child.  But they are cute names.  Stevie = yuck!

I would rank them in the order you listed them...with a few extra spaces between Allie and Stevie - sorry, not a fan.

I agree with PP- Allison and Lillian give your child more choices when she's older. How about Stephanie, with a nn of Stevie?

Lily Kate is pretty. 

Allie is a cute nickname, but I think it's important to have a more formal name for when she's older (think resumes, interviews, etc.). I'd go with Alice Elizabeth (nn. Ali).

Stevie Kate... don't like. Too informal and Steve is a boy's name. Stephanie Kate, maybe?

Alright, I think you guys have really helped.  FYI, Stephens is a family name and my DH middle name...that is where Stevie came from.  Also, Steven Curtis Chapmans has a little girl named Stevie Joy...always thought it was cute.

BTW...Lily Kate has been my DD choice from day one.  She's 8 and would be thrilled to be able to say she picked the name!

I am probably the only one but like Stevie....I only know one young woman with this name in real life and I think there was a girl on American Idol once?? maybe?

I was thinking about this name for my girls since it is my hubby's first name but we opted not to for our daughters or our son just because we wanted them to have a different first name.

Anywho, Lilly Kate is my second choice : )
