Grinding teeth and biting like a puppy dog!?!?!?!

LO has 6 teeth. Top 4 bottom 2. She grinds the top 2 against the bottom 2.

What a terrible sound! How do I stop her from doing that? I don't want her to chip her teeth!! 

She also will bite my shirt and pull on it with her teeth like a little puppy! It's so crazy. Anyone's LO do that?

wow!  she has so many teeth for such a little one!!  My DS also grinds his teeth and nips.  At first I was worried about the teeth grinding, but I spoke to a dentist and he said that they will grow out of it.  the sound is AWFUL!  the dentist said that if they keep doing it, it will eventually hurt them and they should stop on their own.  If they don't grow out of it, eventually they will need a guard.  but he said not to worry about chipping teeth or anything.

 

as far as the nipping...I just say don't bite mommy...he really doesn't understand this just yet, but I try to distract him.

My DS was grinding his teeth around 8 months, it lasted about a month. It is a horrible sound, that's for sure! We just ignored it when he did it so he didn't think it was a big deal or funny. Ped said it was nothing to worry about at this age.

DS grinds his teeth, but it has stopped now that he has cut his 2nd top tooth.
