Lucy or Lucille

Should we use Lucille as a "proper" name, and Lucy as the nn, or can Lucy stand on it's own?

We're doing Lucy on it's own. Both DH and I went back and forth between Lucy and Luciana but we decided Lucy was a fine name on it's own Smile

Lucille is old-fashioned, but I like it. (So I voted for that one.)

I know a couple little girls named Lucy, though, and that's their full name.

Lucille is WAY too old lady for me, plus I think Lucy stands on its own well.

Lucy can stand on its own. I also like Luciana, Lucia, Lucienne or Lucina as full names.

I'm not a fan of nn's as proper names, but I like Louise or Louisa better than Lucille.

We've picked Lucille, although we have been calling her Lucy. So, I voted for that.
