How's it working for you girls? I work 4 days which is technically full-time. I can not seem to get to work before 8:30. I leave at 5 so that my night isn't a total waste and take my full lunch hour to run all the errands I can't run after work. I'm for whatever reason and hourly employee and I'm not hitting my required 30-32 hours per week. It just got brought to my attention becuase of the 4 days I've had to take off in the last 2 weeks due to a viral infection in our house. I have used all my sick days. any more days off = vacation days. i do get three weeks, but as you know, with kids those go fast. i'm so frustrated. my girls are in daycare, so of course they are ALWAYS sick. i can switch days during the week if needed so that i don't miss a day, but so far that has never worked out for whatever reason. i can't seem to leave the house any earlier in the morning, as I'm getting 3 of us ready for the day and daddy takes them to daycare for me.
does anyone else find this really hard? the girls are 19 months old. i know i'd probably go insane if i stayed home all week, but right now i just want to call the office and tell them i quit. financially, that's not really an option and as much as a pain as my company is at times, i'm so lucky for that one day off per week.
just venting... Lil' LJ isn't moving as fast as I need it to! I think I need another 2 years before I'm at the point where it can financially take the place of my current job.
hope every one is well... i don't post as often as i used to!

Re: working full time and mommy-hood
Hi Loree!
I don't post on here nearly as much as I used to either but felt compelled to after reading your post.
I too work Full time M-F. I am a litigator and HAVE to be in court--which is anywhere from 1-2.5 hours from my house depending on traffic, weather etc... by 9:30 AM . If nor, the judges do not care and my cases can very well get dismissed. Talk about stress and pressure. Although my girls are not in day care (yet, probably by next year this time) they are home with a nanny. I know I am fortunate not to have to get them ready and out the door with me right now but is still stressful for me. DH is also a litigator and has longer hours..I work a full day, run errands over lunch IF I get a lunch, do what I can to get home by 5:30 to play, feed and put my girls to bed. I still have a ton of prep work when they go to bed and I do most of the grocery shopping and cooking etc because I actually do have more time than my DH does. Also, eventhough my girls don't get as sick as they might if they were in daycare, they still get sick and are teething like MADNESS right now and taking them to the dr and the sleepless nights lately have me nutty.
I am right there with you..it is HARD but we are getting there and doing it and it is not forever...
