xp from bf: smell of thawed milk

I just thawed some milk.  It was stored properly and has only been in the freezer for a month.  It smells different than my fresh milk.  Not rancid, just different.  I tasted it and it tastes kind of soapy.  I googled, and found that a soapy taste is not uncommon.

Anyone find the same thing?

I could be wrong, but I swear I read some where that a soapy taste is a sign of elevated Lipase levels in the milk.

If your kid will still eat it, there's no problem.  Try sooner rather than later because some women have high lipase and their kids won't eat it...then you have to scald the milk

check kellymom.com. it's a lipase issue. you may have to scald the milk before freezing if LO won't take it.
