Anyone start out on Enfamil/Similac and then switch to Good Start?

If you started out with Enfamil or Similac and then switched to Good Start what was your reasoning and how long was your LO on the other formula before you switched? We are starting with formula off the bat and are trying to decide what to use. I've heard good things about Good Start.

We started on Similac because I had lots of samples and coupons. Then, we tried Good Start because he had been fussy/gassy on all kinds of Similac and I had GS coupons.

ETA: We've stuck with GS so far, but might go generic when we run out of coupons.

With DS#1 started with Enfamil since the hospital gave us samples. He was mostly BF, but I supplemented closer to 4 months old. Switched to Good Start within a few weeks.

With DS#2 I supplemented with Similac a few oz here and there from day 1. OMG! Talk about gassy. Switched to Good Start at 1 month old.

Both times we switched were successful!

Started out on Enfamil Gentlease. He was diagnosed with reflux and was spitting up quite a bit. Dr said that changing his formula wouldn't help at all and I should just stick with the gentlease. I talked to a friend who also had a DS with reflux and she said that good start had helped a lot. I switched and love GS and it has controlled gas/spitups way better than enfamil.

My DD spits up worse than any baby Ive ever been around.. we had her on Similac sensitive.. switched to GS.. switched to enfamil genteease.. switched to enfamil AR lipil for spit up.. and now on similac sensitve rs (lactose free) and she is doing well.. the GS also made her very constipated but dont know if thats because we went from a lactose free to a lactose based formula! Good luck!

I BF and supplement with formula, and started with enfamil. He was/is horribly gassy so we've been using Good Start gentle plus. I haven't seen much of a reduction in gas, but I'm also still BF, so it might not be the formula. We're going to exclusive formula soon, so hopefully I'll have a better idea what's causing the gas. We like Good Start though, we've just used it for the night feedings so far and he's slept well and seemed happy.
