AHHH! Go to Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano. It's on Parker Road just before Midway. It is a FABULOUS park. There are hiking, biking and walking trails. Two playgrounds (one for younger, the other for older) and it's a nature reserve so they have a prairie in one area, flowers in another and some others I can't remember. I highly recommend it! We are there 3+ a week and it is not far from The Colony.
Re: Toddler parks
Have you been to Frisco Commons park? It's near the intersection of Preston and Main Street. There's tons of swings and it's fenced.
