s/o swimsuits with extra support

Ladies needing additional support...and I mean if you're wearing a DD or larger needing additional support...what kind of swimsuit do you wear?  I'm not going to list my bra size here, but suffice it to say I cannot find any swimsuit top with enough support.  WDYW? (What do you wear?)

Re: s/o swimsuits with extra support

  • I have a Nike tankini.  I like it because it the top is more like a sports bra.  It has cups in it and is very supportive.  I can even play volleyball in it.  Most tops are not supportive for me.  I'm a 36DD/E if that helps.

  • I had good luck with Venus swimwear. I'm between a D and a DD though.

Just add water (I think that's what it's called) in the Arboretum has a few suits for larger chested ladies, the selection is small but I thought most were cute.

Victoria's secret has a few larger chested suits too but I always order bigger bottoms because their bottoms run small or I have a big butt.

  • I go to Petticoat Fair and Emer special orders me pretty much whatever I want that they carry. It's awesome. I have low laying big boobies, and everything I have form there makes my girls look fantastic. I have some with and without underwire because we spend a lot of time wakeboarding and the underwires are very uncomfortable under my life vest, and the wire free are just as supportive, flattering, and comfortable.

ETA: I am way above a DD and have a small ribcage so I pretty much need specialty swimwear.

oh, I didn't realize PF had swimwear, too!  (I'm in the same boat - smaller rib cage actually and way above a DD.)  Awesome! Maybe next time I'm in for another nursing bra, I can check out the swimwear.  Thanks for the tip!
  • I have had good luck with Lands End swimwear. They have suits that come with DD sizing. I am a cup larger than DD, but they work well and they are often on sale. HTH!

My fave is Panache, but they also have Fantasie and Freya. They might have more, but those are the ones I have tried with success. You can look on their individual websites to see current styles as well.

  • I bought a Coco Reef bathing suit from Dillards last year.  They have an underwire bra built in and come in larger sizes.

  • I didn't know that either! I'm definitely going to check them out this year.

  • I've ordered suits from figleaves.com before with no problems, and I love them. It's tough not getting to try on like in a store, but returns with them are pretty easy, and so long as your bra size is accurate, the suit should fit pretty well.
