We got a Bonavita crib and it is extremely sturdy.  When we went crib shopping my husband shook and rattled all the cribs to test.  Probably a good reason to think twice about a floor model!

We went with the Da Vinci Emily. We purchased in from Amazon for $250 with free shipping. I really like it. It was easy to put together and is very sturdy. It was one of consumer reports best buys and it was given an A on all the other safety sights.

We received a Graco Lauren crib in white as a gift from MIL. It has yet to be assembled but from reviews, it rated well in Baby Bargains and friends who have it love it!

We honeslty purchased this crib because we were in love with the matching combo dresser more so than the crib.  However, it's incredibly sturdy and I believe Sorelle has decent reviews in baby bargains.

it is very sturdy, no drop side, and also converts

Just an FYI .. I dont know if you read Baby Bargains but Delta cribs have horrible reviews and have had a HUGE number of safety recalls over the last decade or so.  Might be something you want to look into.

We also went with a Bonavita crib - the Hudson style.  Their furniture is very sturdy and well made!  I am very impressed and happy with our purchases!

We bought the IKEA Gulliver crib.  Excellent reviews from baby bargains, low profile to make it easy for me to use (I'm 5'2" and some of the others seemed so tall to me), and at 100 bucks, the price was right.

My DS has a graco Lauren crib (we got ours from diapers.com). It withstands him jumping up and down in it each morning, so I'd say it's sturdy.

We bought the PBK Catalina crib - mostly because it was very sturdy and looked nice.  It's new, so there weren't that many reviews on it, but we had friends who recommended certain PBK cribs and this one looked similar to the ones they recommended.  DH shook it and I've moved it around to clean the area underneath and it seems just fine.

This for us, too. Both on the Bonavita crib and DH shaking the crap out of all the cribs. hah.

Lollipop crib (manuf: AP Industries) from Buy Buy Baby (3-in-1).  We were going to get the Bonavita Peyton (3-in-1, not 4-in-1), but the quality didn't seem as nice as the Lollipop once we saw them in person.

Babyletto Mercer. Honestly, we just liked the way it looked. Had good reviews on amazon, etc and the price was right. Seems very sturdy and the drawer underneath is a nice bonus for storing crib sheets and whatnot.

We got the Graco Charleston crib in white from Target and so far we love it. It's normally $179.99 but when we got it, it was on sale for $150 AND came with a free mattress. We didn't like the mattress, but Target has a new policy that allows you to return the free item for a reduced price. The regular price of the free mattress we got was $40, and we returned it for $33. So we ended up getting the crib for about $120!!

It's made by LaJobi and I did a lot of research on it to make sure it's safe. DH is pretty nuts about safety from a mechanical point of view and I am nuts about the safety of the paint, MDF, etc. DH liked a crib at Pottery Barn because it was "the most sturdy crib we've looked at" but when we got the Charleston all put together, he said it's more sturdy than the Pottery Barn one. Overall, we're really impressed with it. It has metal springs under the mattress, not wooden slats, FYI.

best advice... I got?

Talk to the person that assembles cribs at BRU... the guy where I lived told me that he put wood glue in certain models to make sure they did not get wobbly ... when people were testing them.... that?s all great except if it?s a convertible bed.. and now it does not convert because of the wood glue... he recommend baby itila and babi cache.

The Delta recalls and subsequent bad reviews had to do with the drop side cribs, which they no longer manufacture or sell.  The newer models have received great reviews.

We got an iron crib and the reason is quite simple....IT IS MADE IN AMERICA!!!!   All of the recalled cribs were made in China (of course) with plastic/junky pieces.  We got a solid/american made iron crib that we are comfortable and confident having.  Most iron cribs are very pricey, but we got this for $500 which is quite a deal for a handmade crib.  Worth every penny.  It is traditional, beautiful, and sturdy.

Bonavita Peyton- it's rated #1 by Consumer Reports.  We got Espresso, which is a weird espresso so it's hard to match but not terrible.  I'd avoid a drop side at all costs, and I haven't seen many convertibles that aren't really sturdy (if you put them together right!).

This, the Delta Eclipse. I love it! Baby Bargains doesn't give Delta a good rating because of the recall a couple years ago, but everything is extremely sturdy and safe.

Babi Italia Lifestyle crib ~ have 2 of them actually. I love it, really sturdy & beautiful. Kind of a PITA to lower, but we only had to do it once with DD (from all the way up to all the way down) so it wasn't a big deal. My SIL got one as well and love it too.

Wow - not one repeat I don't think, you American bumpies are so lucky, we definately don't have too many options in eatsern Canada. Some places will ship (expensive) and most places in the US won't ship here due to different safety regulations etc.. so for us it is pretty much Sears or Babies R Us (though our selection is much smaller than yours)

I have search so many beautiful cribs online only to find out that they won't send them here

Also, as far as the sturdy part of the question- I think this can really range from person to person because we checked out some of the cribs mentioned in PP's and didn't consider them all that sturdy (maybe it was just how they were assembled at the stores).  We liked the cribs that had thick wood at the top and slats that didn't bend when pushed on.

We also got the Graco Lauren, but in Espresso. It is gorgeous, was easy to put together, and is VERY sturdy. I did not want a drop side crib. This is also a convertable crib, so the front comes off for toddler bed, then the sides come off and it's a full sized headboard. I believe in buying furniture that will last a long time!!! We couldn't be happier!
