Aiden gave us a scare.

From about 9am to 2pm Aiden's sats were staying in the low 90's. He was having desats every 20-30 minutes bringing him to the low 80's. He was self correcting but after all morning we called the doctor since it is not normal for him to sat so low and desat consistently. I was worried he might be getting sick. His normal pedi was out for the afternoon so we were told to come in and see another doctor. As soon as we got there his sats went back up to 97-98 which is very normal for him. The doctor stayed with us for about 30 minutes watching him and checking him over but couldn't find anything wrong. He hasn't desated since the doctor visit. She thinks he may be silent refluxing. We have a follow up that was already scheduled for Friday and may have to look at increasing reflux meds if he is continuing to desat.

On the plus side we got a new weight and the little fatty is 6lbs 3ozs! Crazy how fast he is gaining! He was discharged 2 weeks ago at 4lb 13.5ozs. Just from last Friday he gained 9 ounces!

Glad he's behaving now...but hope you find out what was causing the desats.  He's getting big!

Glad to hear he ended up improving! Is he gaining weight faster now than while in the hospital? Carter gained 11oz from last Wednesday to Monday. Seems like he's gaining faster now that he's home. Our little guys are growing up

he just wanted mommy's attention.  be prepared for that for the next 18 years.

Yes he is definitely gaining faster now that he is home. In the hospital it took him 8 darn weeks to gain 2 pounds. Home he has gained 1.5 pounds in 2 weeks. I think they must just miss their mommies while in the hospital. The nurses always told me he ate way better when I fed him than when they did. They also told me his sats improved while I was visiting. Who knows!

Wow, that's great growth! My DD was 3lb 12oz at birth and your little guy is only 10oz under where she was at 2 months 2 weeks! Good job, momma!

 This 100%. I was getting pissed at the end of our NICU stay bc I knew I could feed him on demand at home and he'd gain so much better (he was still 4 oz below birth weight when we were discharged). Sure enough, in 2 days time (between his discharge and first pedi visit), he gained 6 oz.! In 2 days! Of course, he's a total chunky monkey now (for a preemie). Weight gain was all about letting him control his feeds for us.
