Good lawd, my mom called 9 times today and because I was in training for 2 hours she couldn't get ahold of me, left me 5 voicemails. I think she was just worried because I've been sick w/ a cold.
Fast forward to this afternoon...Had OB appt and I've gotten 4 calls since I got out. So here's the update:
2cm dialated. Mentioned nothing about being effaced. I dont even know how all that works but for almost being 36 weeks I thought that was pretty good considering its my first. At least I know why my crotch has been killing me for the past 6 weeks or so. I'm scheduled for non stress tests every week due to my GD diagnosis.
Guess I better start packing that hopsital bag my DH refers to everyday!

Re: Let the jitterbug baby watch begin
Good Luck! Keep us posted. I had pain in the crotchal region too...not fun!
good luck but don't think you'll go any day now. It's possible to walk around for weeks 3-4cm dilated. But definitely pack the hospital bag and don't forget the camera and extra batteries and memory card(s)!
keep us posted!
Ha! I had the same problem. It SUCKED. Downward dog (the yoga pose) helped a lot. Good luck! You're in the home stretch now.

haha dont jinx me now! I dont want to go anyday now. I've got a to-do list!!
Yay for progress, but people can be annoying about it.
I was annoyed at having weekly non-stress tests (I think I had them the last 5 or 6 weeks, since DD came so late), but in retrospect it was nice to have a small chunk of time to myself to read or just stare off into space
Hearing the heartbeat is certainly calming. I hope you find a way to enjoy it.
I went into labor literally as soon as our "to do" list was done
But yes, you can be partially dilated forever, you can even lose your mucus plug and get a new one in the weeks before. (this is why my midwives don't even bother checking since it doesn't give any useful information and can cause problems)
