...my LO is 14 months old. I was put on Zoloft when he was 2 months old for PPD, as he was a VERY difficult baby. I took the Zoloft for about 6 months and then weaned off of it. My anxiety is horrible, but I dont know if it is just anxiety, or depression mixed in. I worry all the time...I worry about my LO throwing a temper tantrum out in public, I worry that he won't drink his bottles, etc. I am in a bad mood 85% of the time and I am pushing my husband away. I am seeing a counselor, who can't prescribe medicine, but says I need to be on something...
Re: Please diagnose this....
Maybe schedule an appt with your Ob and see what they think?
IMO, you need to make an appointment to see a psychiatrist. They are the ones with the specialized training to diagnose your condition and prescribe a treatment plan to help you. At this point, you are likely beyond the scope of what would be considered postpartum.
Just as a word of warning--it could take a couple of weeks until a psychiatrist has an intake appointment. The first appointment is generally 45 minutes to an hour long, therefore, they don't have as many of them available. In the past, I have had to wait 3-6 weeks to be seen. It sucks when you are feeling poorly, finally decide to do something about it and then to have to wait to see the doc. Ugh. But, that's typcially how it is. Just wanted to give you a heads up so that it didn't come as a complete surprise. (I could be wrong--I have had docs have availability sooner, but that seems to be the exception, not the rule.)
Take care.
I agree the sooner you see a psychiatrist the better. If you are put on meds they usually take 3 to 4 weeks to kick. It sounds to me like you have generalized anxiety disorder/depression.
Why did u come off the zoloft?
