it looks like my dh needs to get adobe photoshop in order to do some of his work (you know, nerdy sciency graphs and stuff). he's going to need adobe illustrator cs4 and also photoshop.
i see photoshop elements 8.0 and then photoshop cs4 - the prices are significantly different. what's the difference between the two?
thanks!
Re: What's the diff between Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and CS4?
CS4 is the entire creative suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, and some others that I can't remember (and obviously don't use).
Elements is a mini-version of Photoshop. It doesn't have the full range of tools available, but it would cut it if you were just a hobbyist wanting to edit some photos. I don't have elements, so I may be wrong, but I don't think you can run tools like liquefy, and are limited on actions. Don't quote me on that because I just have Photoshop. If he's doing graphics and stuff like that, he probably needs to get CS4 and not just elements.
Woohoo awesome! I didn't realize CS4 included Illustrator!
Since he's a student he can get CS4 for only $200 - that's easier to swallow than the $400 I was thinking it was going to be for both Illustrator and Photoshop.
Thanks!
Great!
Here's a link to all the programs it includes:

Looks like there's a bunch of different package options, but they all seem to include PS and Illustrator.
