Leg cramps like that are usually due to a potassium deficiency, load up on bananas and it should get better. I had these a lot with my second pregnancy and still get them occasionally.
I get these all the time even before being PG. They suck. I have heard the same thing about potassium as Marie said. Also make sure you are plenty hydrated.

I agree with the bananas and water - I got them all the time in my 2nd tri -
as soon as you get a cramp - get out of bed and stand on that leg - try to walk on it a bit - sounds crazy , but that would totally take the cramp away for me ( and I was getting them almost on a nightly basis for a while!)
