Ladies who used a PP support belt - come in!

I remember a discussion on this a long time ago, but it was before I even had babies on the brain.  Did some of you use a PP support belt like the Medela or Belly Bandit?  I'm wondering if it was worth it and did it work to help your muscles tighten?  What other brands are available? TIA!

  • I tried the belly bandit and I was not impressed by it. It just felt stiff and super uncomfortable. I preferred just wearing my bella band or whatever it is called to "suck things in" and keep me from jiggling in the first few weeks, if that makes sense.

  • I used the Medela...wasted $20.

It would bunch up when I sat down no matter how I positioned it/how tight it was. I just don't understand how it's supposed to help your muscles tighten but then again some people swear by them {Jessica Alba raves about one I think...}.

  • I lived in my spanx after I had Abby. Does that count? ;)
  • They do seem like they would be too stiff to comfortably sit in.  Rachel, Spanx sound like a great idea! I already have Spanks and belly bands.  Thx!
  • I agree with Rachel...I swore by Spanx once my incision wasn't sore...love them.
  • I've heard good things about a good old fashioned girdle...I plan to start with the Spanx and then the girdle if I'm not seeing the results I want.

  • I absolutely loved mine. It was the one from Boppy. I wore it constantly, to sit, feed, and especially sleep in. To me that was the best time to wear it. I wore a lot of flowey dresses after having my LO so no one could see it under my clothes.

I do think it helped my swelling go down. From friends who have had C-sections they all say they are getting one next time since seeing what it did for me!

  • Spanx! Is it sad that I still wear mine?  I've lost the weight, but still feel jiggly in some things.

Girl, I wore mine BEFORE the baby...you better believe I still bust them out every now and then. ;o)

I wore mine before baby too!  And I just bought some Assets (from the same lady who invented Spanx, but cheaper) in nude and black for after baby.  Target has them on clearance!

  • I haven't even thought about this.

How soon can you start wearing things like this after you have the baby?

  • This post is so interesting to me because I never considered, thought, or even knew I could wear something post partum to help tighten up my stomach. And perhaps that's why I'm still jiggly.  Probably too late now.
