I was told I was borderline GD at 28 weeks. I have been doing blood checks and modifying my diet since then and had no problems. A few high numbers here and there but nothing to worry about. I had a bad few days as far as cheating goes and my numbers were fine. I have gone back to eating whatever I want and my numbers are perfect. Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks
Re: XP: Vanishing GD?
Sounds like you never really had GD but they wanted to watch you since you were "at risk" with borderline numbers. I suspect you should keep monitoring yourself, eat well, and just relax for the rest of your pregnancy.
Enjoy it. GD by definition sucks.
I was diagnosed with borderline GD at 28 weeks as well. My midwife said that although I don't have a problem now that I could in the as the weeks progress. She said that the hormones that my placenta puts out that are working against the insulin will just get stronger and stronger.
So she sent me to a diabetic nurse and I have been testing my sugar 4 times per day. All of my numbers have been in the low end of the range she gave me, but I haven't really "cheated". I am going back to see the diabetic nurse on Thursday and am going to ask if I can eat more normally or if I should continue on the meal plan she gave me.
