Ever been to Secrets? (Any property)

Are Secrets kid friendly or adult only? I can't seem to find it on their website, but I'm leaning towards thinking it's adult only since there's no mention of childcare anywhere.  We're looking for a re-do vacation probably late summer/early fall so I'm already researching ;)

Re: Ever been to Secrets? (Any property)

  • No clue about Secrets, but what's a "re-do' vacation?  Did you not have a good time on your vacation recently?

  • Both DH and I got sick :( He was sick for just one day but I was sick for 1/2 the trip :( Our friends that we went with had the stomach flu and brought it with them :( It was awful Sad

(The 1/2 that I wasn't sick was just amazing though!)

  • They are kid friendly during the day but not at night. I was surprised actually because on vacay at OC we went ( I had never been there except as a bar) and were with my two young nephews (1 and 3) they had a good kids menu. Have fun!

wait i think i have the wrong secrets...I am thinking of the bar in ocean city. Maybe you mean the resort? sorry DUH!

  • If you're talking about the all inclusive resorts.. They used to be called Secrets Excellence, but are now just called Excellence I believe. Anyway.. I've been to the ones in Riviera Maya and Punta Cana DR and they are Adults only. Both of them were amazing and we loved them.
  • Secrets is adults-only, but Dreams is their family friendly property of the brand.  I:ve been to both and loved them both, but I'd say the Secrets property (Riviera Maya, I think) was nicer than the Dreams property (Puerta Vallarta).  I highly recommend them both though.

  • We are taking DD to Beaches (by Sandals) in May. I have heard wonderful things from friends. They have all kinds of child play & care options during the day that are included but for evening you have to pay for childcare to come to your room. I haven't heard anything about Dreams- which is Secrets equivalent to beaches But i think it would offer the same types of programs

  • check out bookit,  travelocity and tripadvisor for AI's with kid's programs. Some have services for ages 2-3+, some for young kids as well.

Even some cruises have kids clubs, great spot to find killer deals, with a nice sort feature, is vacationstogo .

We went to Secrets in Curacao, it was a chithole. But that was a long time ago, and I think it's now a Breezes?

I just saw Club Med in Ixtapa, Mexico, get a write up in my Parents mag for being a great place to take and leave the kids.

  • Went to Secrets Excellence in Punta Cana in 2004 with DH who at the time was my fiance.  It was so beautiful and so relaxing and fun.  The service was great, the room was huge, the food was delish...I could go on and on.  It is adults-only.
