My dd is pushing through at least four teeth right now (lateral incisors and canines on the bottom) and is biting her fingers and hands like mad today. We noticed at dinner that she had some red marks on her hands and amrs that hadn't been there before and thought maybe she had pinched herself on a toy and she just never fussed about it. Then as my DH was getting her ready for a bath he noticed more, all the way up to her elbow almost, and you can actually see the teeth marks this time. She's biting hard. We do have teething toys for her, and rings, and she doesn't use them. Has anyone ever come across this? We talked to her about not biting herself, but I don't know that that will work. Any suggestions on how to get her to stop biting herself?
Re: Self-biting while teething?
my daughter did the same thing and now the teeth are in and she stopped. Toys, chewy things did not help but she did love to chew/eat ice, so that helped or we just kept her occupied and that sort of helped. Sorry no suggestions as nothing stopped her completely. She was chewing her fingers like crazy, but just her fingers.
