are you a yeller/shouter?

We just left a new playgroup. One of the moms is a yeller. She nearly lost it with her dd a couple of times. To her credit, she is a sahm of 2, it's march and there are mounds of snow all over. She made multiple comments about being jealous I could work parttime and how she's going nuts on year 6 of sah. I felt for her b/c it was obvious she was stressed. Her dd was a screamer and sassy. But man, it made me wonder what I look like to people. I admit to losing it at home on ocassion , but not in public.

Re: are you a yeller/shouter?

  • Not really.  I have been known to yell at home occasionally, but rarely in public.  DS knows that when I give him a certain look that I mean business and is pretty good about behaving.

  • Not in public;)  I'm more the "pick up the child who's loosing it and carry them kicking and screaming to the car" type!

  • At home, but not in public.  In public, I have perfected my look and evil calm voice, which, btw, is the thing that always scared me the most about my mom...

  • I'm a yeller by nature but as I get older I find myself not yelling as much as I did with my older kids.  Also I dont yell in public

  • Nope, not ever.  The one and only time I EVER yelled at Brendan, I came down with the flu the next day.  I am still ashamed of losing my temper with him, but the fact that I was getting sick at least makes it something that I can stomach.  I still feel terrible about it, and it was almost a year ago.  So not productive parenting. Sad
