Our wedding photographer has a package where for $150 (CDN) she does maternity shots, newborn shots, and 1st birthday shots.  She usually blogs about all 3 together (and sometimes even includes the couple's engagement and wedding shots if she did them too).  Really neat to see them all together with her professional eye.  She was a blast to work with, and she has 5 kids of her own, so I would likely be comfortable having my belly hang out aorund her.

I would like to do it. I will definitely have DH take belly pictures every week or two, but I think I also want to have professional ones done. One of the photographers around here does them and they are awesome, but they are usually kind of pricey. I think with them its a package that includes maternity shots as well as several sittings (newborn, 1 month, and 6 month maybe?) for the baby after it's born.

A friend of mine had some done when she was pregnant, and she did a lot of bare belly ones. To some, hers would've probably seemed a little risque (she had her top off and was covering her breasts) but to me I didn't see them as sexual, more of the beauty of pregnancy/motherhood.

i didn't with ds.  i didn't have a nice "belly" for photos (so i thought).  i just recently took some maternity photos of my friend and i wish i had some of myself...

we took hardly any pics of me pregnant and that makes me kinda sad now (even if i had a fat face)

My parents own a photography studio and do weddings, maternity, family portraits etc. for a living so I don't think I'll be able to avoid it even if I wanted to! I'm sure any potential pregnancy I have will be thoroughly documented! LOL

No. I didn't with DD and won't. I did take almost weekly belly pics, clothed and hope to do the same. But I'm not into maternity pics that look artsy.

If I still look presentable then, I will. Our wedding photographer offered to do them for free when the time comes. I wouldnt spend a bunch of money to do it though.
