Anyone have this for a girl? Like/dislike?
I got it today at Target and was rushed b/c DD was throwing a tantrum. I was like, "it's cute, simple to clean, 12 bucks, perfect." Now I'm wondering if the design is really best for a girl, though. I mean.... how do I put this... girls, like, close their legs on the potty, ya know? And the "integrated boy splash guard" aspect of the froggy design sorta makes that impossible for a little girl, even though the picture does show a girl on it. This was the reason I didn't like the Bjorn one, but now I've ended up with that kind anyway. If you've started potty training, tell me: does it really even matter?
Re: Fisher Price froggy potty
We have the froggy potty and we love it. Our pedi actually told us it's easier for girls to go potty with their legs seperated(not closed).
The bjorn is good too because your dd will sit down and have her legs out. The pee will sometimes arch out which is why the pee guard is good for girls as well as boys. Eventually, your dd will start keeping her knees closer together but not in the beginning.
All good info to know! Thanks! Now I am feeling excited for our purchase.
We have it and I dont know if it is the design or if DD is just too short, but she really has to straddle the thing to get seated on it correctly.
I think after her bathroom reno is finished, i'm going to get a ring for her regular toilet instead.
