How did you all organize your nursery's closet? DH and I want to tackle this project soon. We are very fortunate to have 2 closets in the room. One we are going to make all storage (books, toys, etc). The other is a reach-in closet (4 ft wide).
We were thinking of doing the closetmaid laminate system. With a 16" shelf unit (8 shelves I think) with bars for clothes. I've seen a lot of 3 bar "infant" systems. Is it worth while or do you find the 3 bars is too tight once they get bigger? Are the shelves necessary or nice?
We'll also have a 3 drawer dresser for folded stuff.
Re: Closet Org in Nursery
We used a closetmaid system for Derek's closet and some hanging organizers. They have a bunch of different systems and it's worked great for us so far. He also has a 6 drawer dresser we use for folded clothes, towels, sheets, etc.
Here's a pic from when we did it.
We have an Easy Track system in DDs walk in closet. It really is a great system (so easy to put together and its really good quality). We have wardrobe rods, shelves & drawers. There are no wire shelves with this system, which I personally prefer. We also have a 6 drawer dress in her room and it's full!
I would highly recommend shelving in a baby closet as well as some rods. HD expo was the only large local place that carried but since they went out of business you can order directly from Easy Track online, that's what we did so we did not have to drag it home!

We put in an elfa system from the Container Store in our nursery. The closet isn't huge (I'll try to post a pic in this post) and we wanted to maximize the storage capability. We have some drawers, shelves and two hanging racks. I "heart" my drawers. I also purchased some of the itso storage containers that they sell at Target in a color that matched the nursery. I use them to hold clothes in sizes that Rowan isn't ready for and a few other things.
Also keep in mind that the Container Store runs an elfa sale twice a year and you can usually google and find a coupon online for a percentage off in the stores. That's what we did.
