I'm running out of ideas for healthy breakfast choices for William to take to daycare. Can you share yours? Something that's easy to make and pack. TIA!
Does your daycare not offer breakfast? Ugh...that would be so hard! That said...I dont know that ours offers exactly a "healthy" one. Does he like meat and eggs at all? DH found this great recipe for breakfast-in-a-cup thats made in muffin tins - eggs, sausage, etc. Our kids love them on the weekends.
Brandi. We have an option to sign him up for bfas but I think they r a lil over priced I LOVE the eggs and sausage muffin ideas. My lil one loves meat and muffin. Thanks again for the idea. Ladies, keep em coming.
Mine probably aren't the healthy that you are looking for ... frozen waffles (do they have a microwave or toaster?), fruit bars, pop tarts, muffins ...
Geneva's on the boring train for breakfast. She eats a fruity breakfast bar or organic pop tart before we leave for school, and then eats a serving of fruit when we get to school.Hot breakfasts are for the weekends.
We do freeze leftover pancakes and waffles whenever Rob makes a batch. They reheat great in the toaster oven. I used to send those to school with her before she figured out maple syrup makes EVERYTHING better. That's just too much of a mess.
Lil' G was born April 25, 2008!
Big C was born September 28, 2011!
ditto the egg muffins. i use a silicone baking pan, spray it with pam, then put whatever ingredients i want in the bottom (usually do some sort of meat, cheese, and veggies like mushrooms, peppers, and always green onions for flavor). i do half eggs half egg whites and pour it over the ingredients. bake at 375 i think for 25-30 minutes. mmm!
or i do a crescent roll bfast casserole. roll out one package of crescent rolls in the bottom of a 9x13 pyrex pan (sprayed with pam), pour scrambled eggs over the crescent rolls (or use half whole eggs half egg whites), sprinkle your choice of meat over the eggs then top with 2 cups of your choice of shredded. back at 350 for 30 minutes. i make this on sundays, cut it up in to 8 servings, and place in sandwhich baggies through the week.
You could do an English muffin with cheese and Canadian bacon - just pop it all into the toaster.
Sam eats frogs in a hole a lot (bread with a fried egg in the center) - it takes about 5 minutes to cook. Yogurt, fruit, Van's waffles, peanut butter toast, cheese toast. I love breakfast!
Ditto the muffin cups. I make batches on the weekends for DH and I during the week. We usually just do sausage and cheese. They're very easy to make and yummy. Ditto directions above, 375 for about 30 min or until golden brown.
Nutrigrain Eggo, Turkey Bacon, and a fruit cup or banana. This is standard breakfast for Gavin on the weekends. Thank goodness our daycare does breakfast during the week!
He also loves those French Toast Sticks. So sometimes I do these instead of the Eggo.
Waffle "sandwiches" with cream cheese and jelly, yogurt and blueberries, scrambled eggs and cheese (baked ahead of time in a muffin tin) are some easy things we give DD.
To take of on this topic.....DD's intolerant which makes it a little tricky for us...we have to sub in the soy versions of regular dairy products. Do any of you have recommendations of what else to try? I hate giving her so much soy because that's been linked to problems as well...

you could also do breakfast quesadillas
put everything on a tortilla with a little cheese. Pop in the microwave for about 30 seconds and done.
