Babies on the Brain

Pregnancy Brain: Myth or Fact? I say fact.

I lost the remote to the tv. I know am I the one that lost it b/c I remember having it yesterday morning, and then not being able to find it later. I have no idea where it is. My poor husband has tore apart the entire house, including the fridge, freezer, dishwasher, cabinets, EVERYWHERE.

The only place left is the trash... and that is probably where it is. How the hell did I manage that?

Re: Pregnancy Brain: Myth or Fact? I say fact.

  • Pregnancy brain is def real.  I tried washing my face with hair conditioner a while ago.

Well, I read somewhere that it was a myth, but I am much more forgetful than usual, so I don't really agree. I can't seem to remember anything right now!

I read that same article. I think the article is BS. I know I was forgetful before I got pregnant, but now it is a thousand times worse.

  • Most definitely fact. My husband tried to convince me otherwise because he read ONE measly little article that said it's a myth. I told him like anything in the world, for every article supporting one side online, you will find another supporting the other.

We had a doctor staying at our house this weekend though and he said it absolutely is a fact. That shut DH right up Big Smile

  • This is one part of pregnancy I'm not looking forward to.  I'm already a bit loony (anyone remember when I forgot to rinse the shampoo?) so when it gets worse I may hurt myself or something.

  • Supposedly you lose 30% of your short term memory capacity while pregnant.  This has been studied.
  • Fact and it gets worse once the baby comes lol. I keep losing my phone and remotes and stuff. And forgetting what I'm doing as I'm doing it.
  • I haven't noticed it personally.

  • Myth. I was scatterbrained long before I was pregnant.
    2 girls and a dog
  • I say fact. I try to put the cereal box in the fridge all the time and don't realize it doesn't belong there until I can't make it fit.
  • I say myth...I haven't noticed a difference.

  • Fact.

I was at the grocery store when I was KU and stared at the red and green grapes  and decided to myself "green grapes, I love these!" and bought two bags.

Then I got home and my DH said, " aww. you bought green grapes for me?"

He likes green, I like red. DOH.

  • Fact and mommy brain is worse.
  • Studies have shown it to be true.  I can't remember the specifics, but something physically happens to your brain when you are pregnant.
  • Total fact.  And the worst part, it continues after you have your baby.  It's just called Mommy Brain.  I'm worried how I'm going to function with Mommy Brand and Pregnancy Brain combining forces to take me down!
