WTD for Cough?

Fay is coughing up a storm now. It's a wet cough, and it's so pathetic. You can tell that it's so hard on her little body. Is there ANYTHING I can give such a little baby for her congestion and coughing? I have a cool mist humidifier, but it seems to do nothing. Poor girl. TIA!

We're going through the same thing, just have to tough it out unfortunately. The saline spray helps her nasal passages and we try to sit in a steamy bathroom with her for about 20 minutes everyday.

Our pedi okayed it for us to give LO the little noses decongester; but only for 2-3 days (it's like afrin for babies). I really worked and by the end of the 3rd day his congestion was better thank goodness.  Call your pedi and see what they suggest.

The things you can do are saline drops, nasal aspirator, cool mist humidifier, elevation of mattress, and vaporizer.  Those are the typical things to do/try when LO has a cold.

Thanks, I appreciate it. It breaks my heart. She coughs and coughs and turns bright red and gets sleepy from the effort, but her coughing keeps her awake. Agh.

I turn ds on his tummy over my legs and cup my had and sorta burp him if you can picture it...it helps loosen whats in there so he can cough it up and get it out....its seems to work well for us, also the hot steamy bath rooms helps. His cough has gotten more and more loose the last couple of days thanks to these things...
