When did you start feeling like outings/working was too stressful for your body?

I am only 18 wks. but feeling more like 8 mo.! I've even grown out of a few of my maternity clothes that I wore till the end with my singletons. I have big babies (DD 1 was 8lbs.11oz. at 38 wks., and DD 2 was 9lbs.3oz. at 39 wks.) These babies were measuring 8 days bigger at my Big U/S last wk. which is a great feeling in case they come early but I am already huge and getting very uncomfortable. I am bigger than an old colleage that's due in 4 wks. It will be hot at the end for me so I am thinking I'll need to get some maxi dresses since that may be all that fits. What did you wear at the end? And when did you start giving up activities leaving the house if you were'nt on bedrest??? Thanks:)

  • it's really different for everyone. i was still making target runs the day before i was admitted (for pre-e, not preterm labor) at 32 weeks.

it's never a bad idea to take it easy, though. i stopped going into work full time at 28 weeks.

  • Everyone is different.  I was placed off work at 24 weeks, but I was really okay with getting around until 28 weeks when I started to have a hard time.  By 33 weeks, the pressure was out of control and I couldn't stand for very long.  But some people are good until the end...it all depends, but I think it's important to listen to your body.

  • i stopped working at 31 weeks because where i worked there was a long walk from the parking lot to my office and that became too much for me. i just wanted to stay home and sleep, so i did. the boys were born at 36 wks and i feel like if i had done less those last few weeks (we were moving) i could have kept them cooking another week. really listen to your body and dont push it. getting that one more thing done isnt worth it.
  • 28 weeks for me.  By as pp said, everyone is different and you just have to listen to your body.
